Amelia Brady
I am World Nomad's Editorial Producer by weekday, campfire storyteller and off-road adventurer by weekend. I grew up in the suburbs of Sydney (where nothing interesting ever happens), and after high school went to university for a Bachelor of Arts in Media, majoring in writing, television and radio. When I started working at World Nomads in 2016, my inspiration to travel grew tenfold. After producing a guide to Nepal, I booked a trip to hike the Annapurna region, and soon after producing a guide to Colombia, booked a three month trip to explore the South American continent with my husband. When I'm not talking to my dog, I'm busy editing content for Travel Safety, investigating the latest on Search Engine Optimization (SEO), or listening to an episode of The World Nomads Podcast. I love finding pet-friendly campsites along the east coast of Australia, taking the boat out to isolated parts of Lake Macquarie, and I often severely underestimate hiking trails (such as the W Trek in Patagonia). I'm allergic to mosquitoes, and dislike traffic so much that I moved out of Sydney to a quiet town up the coast near Newcastle. You can (and should) follow my blog, Where's Mildo. -
Joanna Tovia
I grew up in the US, Germany and Australia, so it feels more foreign for me to stay in one place than to move around. Since then, I’ve called Boston, London, Seattle, Brisbane, Madison and Sydney home for study and work as a journalist, travel writer and photographer. I specialize in adventure travel, social issues and interiors/architecture. Home is now an 1890s cottage in the Blue Mountains near Sydney. I traveled to my seventh continent last year – an action-packed expedition to Antarctica – and have memories galore of my travels. Snowshoeing in the Canadian Rockies, galloping with gauchos in Chilean Patagonia, trekking through Japan, and camel riding in Jordan are among the most memorable. My least favourite travel hiccup was being stranded in Cameroon when I should have been winging my way to Paris for a little me-time. You win some, you lose some. -
