Which Travel Insurance Policy is Right for Me?

We offer three different travel insurance plans.

  1. The Basics plan: has a lower level of cover if you don’t need all the extras
  2. The Works plan: is our highest coverage option with higher excess and coverage limits
  3. The Annual Multi-Trip plan: This option is for travellers who need to travel many times over a 12-month period for work and leisure or both. Maximum trip duration 35 days.

What travel insurance plans does TID offer?

 International travel insurance plan

The Works and Basics plans are available to any Aussie under 75 years of age taking a trip overseas, provided you meet our definition of ‘resident’.

The Works is our most comprehensive plan with higher benefit amounts and includes rental vehicle insurance excess. The Works covers single and return trips only, not annual multiple trips. The Basics plan offers smaller limits on your level of cover. It offers cover for any essentials such as cancellation, personal liability, luggage and personal effects and more.

Domestic travel insurance plan

If you are travelling around Australia, you can purchase the Domestic policy, which is available to travellers under 75 years of age. Note: we are not able to provide medical coverage in Australia under the Private Health Insurance Act 2007.

When you buy a Domestic plan, you can be covered for Cancellation and additional expenses and Medical evacuation and repatriation for automatically covered existing medical conditions, provided you meet the requirements under the Automatically covered conditions section in the PDS.

Annual Multi Trip travel insurance plan

If you travel regularly over a 12-month period, you may consider an Annual Multi Trip (AMT policy). This policy is available to travellers under 75 years of age. Cover includes domestic and international travel for leisure and business. Each trip is covered up to 35 days.

The AMT policy has two options:

  • Single - if you mostly travel on your own or with your dependent children
  • Family - if you have a partner who regularly travels, either with you or on their own, and any dependent children. Dependent children cannot travel on their own on an AMT policy.

Options and benefits
