Make changes to your policy

Choosing the right travel insurance policy to suit your individual needs is an important task – after all, it may be a life saver should the unexpected occur while you’re on the road.

Whichever Travel Insurance Direct (TID) policy you choose - The Basics, Works, Annual Multi Trip or Domestic – it’s right up there with your passport in term of importance, and the Certificate of Insurance needs to reflect exactly who you are.

It’s also important to note that only the primary traveller on the policy can view and make changes to it. If you’re listed as the secondary traveller or a dependent, you will be unable to view or change the policy. You may need to speak with the primary traveller listed on the policy to share policy details with you or make the desired changes.

What if I make a mistake in the policy detail?

After you've purchased your Travel Insurance Direct policy, read through the details thoroughly. It's not uncommon to make a mistake in the spelling of a name, in your email address, or other contact details. If you find any mistakes, the easiest way to fix this is online through your My Account.

The steps below will help guide you through making these amendments.

  • Amend personal details on your account in My Profile such as email address and DOB. Please note: If you change your email address in the My Profile section, this will update your login. Your policy information will remain unchanged, but you'll need to use your new email address to log in to your account. 
  • Amend details on your policy such as First name, last name, DOB (within the same age bracket), residential address, contact number, and email

If your policy is still active and you are amending details such as email address or DOB - It is best to update this in the My Policy section rather than My Profile section.

1. Log into your account

1. On the top right, click on My account



2. Enter in the same email address used to purchase your TID policy and click Next.



3. You will then receive an email with a verification code. Enter the verification code into the below field and click Continue. The verification will expire after 15 minutes.


Note:
If you’re experiencing issues logging in:

  • Check you are using the right email and have typed it in correctly
  • Check your spam or junk folder in your email if you have not received a verification code
  • Check you have typed in the verification code correctly
  • Check you are using the most recent verification code and that it has not expired




2. Amend personal details on your account in My Profile

1. If you would like to amend personal details such as email address, and DOB, click on your name/profile icon located on the top right of the page.





2. Click on Edit and enter in the details you would like to amend by clicking on the relevant field.





3. Once you’re ready, click on Save to confirm your updated personal details.





4. Your personal details have now been updated and you’ll receive a confirmation email shortly.


3. Amend details on your policy

1. Once you have logged in, click on My Policy located on the left panel.
2. If you have one policy, amend your residential address by clicking on Edit Policy.

If you have two or more policies, select the policy you would like to amend your residential address on by clicking on the View/Amend policy button, then click Edit Policy.






3. After clicking Edit Policy, you’ll be directed into the Trip details section. Click on next step to go into the traveller details section.





4. In the traveller details section, you'll be able to amend details such as first name, last name, DOB, contact numbers, and residential address by updating the relevant field.




5. Once you have entered in your new details, you'll need to check the terms and conditions below. Once you're ready, click Submit.
